scrambled eggs, cupcakes and Hap-penis
Adele Mills' provocative Scrambled Eggs, Cupcakes and Hap-penis exhibition expands on ideas that began during her MFA (thesis) at Cal Arts in 2003. In what might be called "invitational aesthetics", a small community of people generously agreed to share personal and intimate pieces of their lives with the artist and through these relationships a series of portraits have emerged. Each piece represents a psychological space of tensions and attempts to reconcile issues of identity - searching for identity while in a state of "genealogical bewilderment".
